I want to know if anyone is using medical Marijuana in my state (Maryland). Ultrcet is no longer doing a good job at keeping the pain at bay. The rheumatologist prescribed more medication...gabapentin. I don't want to take another pill. Plus it made me groggy during the day. I don't want to keep taking pills to feel better. One of my friends who has a similar condition swears by her marijuana treatments. I am willing to try it

Members shared their experiences with gabapentin and interest in medical marijuana for fibromyalgia pain management, with many describing challenges like dizziness, nausea, and ineffectiveness even at high doses like 1200mg daily. Several members expressed frustration with taking multiple daily medications and shared their complex medication regimens, including combinations of Cymbalta, Tramadol, Flexeril, and gabapentin, with some considering medical marijuana or cannabis oil as a more natural alternative. A recurring theme was the desire to reduce pill burden and find relief that doesn't come with debilitating side effects, with members offering encouragement to explore medical marijuana options while acknowledging the waiting period for availability in some areas.

Gabapentin takes some time to get use to. Try taking it at night only for the first 2 weeks Then ad one pill during the day. I was prescribed 4 a day and they made me so dizzy and nauseous that is what my doctor recommended.

@ Stacey WP, MMJ won't be available in Maryland until next summer, but the doctors list should be available soon. It won't get you high, so no worries there.

Gentle hugs!

I am also looking into this. Particularly cannabis oil. Which doesn't contain the amount of THC that marijuana has in it. I am on so much medicine for my FM this is just my daily amount
Cymbalta 90mg
Tramadol 50mg every 8 hours as needed
Flexeril 10 mg up to 3x a day as needed
Gabapentin 1200 to 1500mg at night

I am 29 years old and I feel like I am in my 70s. We are even thinking of moving to a house with no stairs. Lol .
