I'm curious to see what you all do for exercise. I really struggle with this. The best thing I found was aquatics but the nearest facility is 45 minutes from home. By the time I get off work I just have no energy left.

Members shared creative solutions to the challenge of finding accessible exercise with limited energy and long distances to facilities, with water-based activities like aquatics, pool therapy, and swimming being the most popular recommendation. Several members suggested practical alternatives including at-home options like yoga DVDs, stretching routines, resistance training with household items, and low-impact activities such as walking or slow-paced cycling to keep joints moving. A recurring theme was the importance of persisting even when fatigued, with many members acknowledging that while the effort to get to a pool or gym can feel overwhelming, the energy boost afterward makes it worthwhile, and when distance is truly a barrier, simple at-home movements can still make a meaningful difference.

Yoga and walking. I live far from everything, too, it's rough! I would swim all the time if I lived closer to the therapy pool!

Do you have a health center/hospital that has a pool. My doctor wrote me a prescription to do pool therapy. Wherever they have physical therapy they have a pool. Just a suggestion. I also had my dr write for massages and Accupuncture. I cancelled after 3 sessions because it seemed to be causing me more pain so I will stick with pool therapy.

You can do minimal resistance training in your own home. Books for weights. Crunches, sit ups, push ups. There are lots of exercises online that are free. When all else fails, just walk. You can do stretches along the way. Best all round.

I walk or ride my bicycle. I have arthritis in my knees and hips, my rheumatologist suggested riding a bicycle to keep the joints moving freely. I keep a slow pace so I don't over do it.
