Been hearing good reviews about Dr.Terry Wahls book The Wahls Protocol, wondered if any of you fibro warriors had been on this nutritious diet and has it helped your fibro symptoms?
Carolyn, may I suggest to try by yourself. As we can see, treatment can be very different for one another. I guess it can be the same with food. I'm not saying to try everything, but try to be alert on how you feel after meal and if you feel bad after one. Try it again the week after and see how you feel. And if you want to go further, try a variant of the meal after to try to identify the ingredient that makes you feel that way. Worked for me, just takes time, but it worth the effort
Thankyou to to you all who has taken the time to reply. The Virgin diet sounds interesting and informative. Money is tight, but if I do buy the book you guys will be the first to know how I get on x
A lot of people say eating gluten free helps, orthe Paleo diet. I find raw vegetables hard to digest, although I do love them. I had a salad for lunch and I am bloated and my stomach feels gassy and is making a lot of gurgling noises. Not everyone is the same. I saw a Dr. of Chinese medicine and she suggested eating only warm cooked foods to help with pain and IBS. I just read an article about a Dr. that removed all meats and vegetable from her diet and it cut her pain down drastically. It is so different for everyone. I think you can tell what you are sensitive by the way you feel after you eat it. I ate Chinese food the other day and I had a hard time falling asleep. When I woke up I had a splitting headache. I assume it was the MSG. Raw onions and garlic kill me, as does cilantro for some reason.
Never really thought of it could be down to certain foods but if you do find out it works let me know 😊
I was introduced to JJ Virgin's book the "Virgin diet" about 4 years ago. Her book doesn't just tell you what to do but tells you the why of doing certain things. It was extremely educational. The results have been amazing for me and has helped identify many "triggers" for food allergies that effect my FM or cause migraines. It didn't cure me and I still have flares but it has taught me what foods are absolutely off limits to me that suppressed my immune system and that is a big deal. I haven't heart of Dr. Terry Wahls but it sounds like a similar concept.
