I have been faithful to always brush, floss, and rinse good. I do this twice daily some times three. I get my yearly cleaning. But I keep having cavities and I usually end up with getting the tooth pulled. Last year I lost three. Now four month's after my last dental visit I once again have two cavities. Because of the new insurance rules I can no longer go to my dentist and have to start all new with another. Does any one else battle this problem? what do you do?
I lost all of mine because of my meds lyrica is known for making u lose ur teeth
Unfortunately, most of my teeth on the bottom were breaking or cavities like crazy. Like others I have major dry mouth, I have tried different toothpastes and mouth washes with the dry mouth but none of them have done very much. I found going to the dentist so frustrating as I would go the dentist get all kinds of work done and still be going at the nine month mark when I was supposed to be going back for a check up and teeth cleaning. But I never would get a break as something would break etc. I guess 7 years ago I had to get all my bottom teeth pulled. So after that I didn't go back for awhile as it seemed like I was there all the time. So, I started back again this year and have had a couple pulled, a root canal. I had a front one crack and a temporary one in its place. I have to get a partial denture for the top made. But yes, I have gone into flare ups or other times my whole body feels all cramped up. As well as terrible headaches and jaw pain that doesn't want to go away I have been on narcotics and other meds for years and my teeth have been destroyed from all the medication, that alone was depressing.
DebbieFoster, that great info about the Lyrica. I never considered that before. However I've been off Lyrica since May 2018 because I gained 40-45lbs in 18months while on Lyrica, since off Lyrica I've lost 20lbs so far and have not changed any foods etc. Now I'm wondering if the Lyrica is what ruined my teeth. I had 5 crowned top teeth and others keep cracking and became very soft. Never had any dental problem except for when I was a teenager & do to sensitivity to cold/hot food they did Root canals/crowns.
Hello everyone I have fibromyalgia it's almost ten years since I was diagnosed. I been having problems with my teeth when I rub my tongue across my teeth they are so rough I can tell they getting worse I try to go to the dentist when I can don't have insurance only Medicare and Medicaid and they only do the bare minimum. I wish there was a program out there that can help me get some work done I hate to lose my teeth, but I try to stay positive. If anyone have any suggestions I would appreciate it you guys have a blessed night. I'm always keeping my fibromyalgia family in my prayers and thoughts 😍😍🙏🙏
I have had to have all my teeth pulled since fibro stole my life. All the meds destroyed my once healthy teeth. And now, I can't afford dentures, so I go toothless. Know how much healthy food is soft? My gums get very irritated. Lately, they have been so sore, I can barely eat. This isn't living
