It especially hurts when I wake in the morning. If I bend over the bathroom sink, it's excruciating.

Members shared experiences with upper back pain behind the ribcage, a common fibromyalgia symptom that many described as crushing, excruciating upon movement, and often mistaken for other conditions like gallbladder issues or costochondritis. Several members offered practical relief strategies, including Deep Heat ointment, Naproxen, DHC Continus for severe episodes, lying flat, and recognizing that fibro pain feels more muscular and superficial compared to the deeper bone pain of arthritis. A recurring theme was the challenge of distinguishing fibromyalgia pain from other conditions and the importance of communicating all symptoms to doctors while being patient with the learning process.

I get this sometimes when I wear my bra. Just around my ribs and between my shoulders.

`Yes I do and its such an uncomfortable feeling. I always feel like I can't catch my breath when I get that pain high in my back near my ribcage. When I get it all I want to do is lie flat on my back but nothing seems to help : (

I'm glad it's not your gallbladder. I remember nights sitting up with mine and it always ached around my ribcage. I thought that was weird.
