Is Anyone Else Struggling With Food?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Off and on since I became ill I have incidents with food - lack of appetite, inability to eat much, difficulty swallowing etc But this past week it's all really affecting me. I am a real foodie - I love the stuff, shopping for it, prepping it, cooking it - reading about it, researching it! But right now I can't enjoy it. Even easy meals, I can't eat them at all. I either lose my appetite after cooking, can't cut it up and eat it too, can't swallow it, feel pain when it passes through the… read more

I feel like that too! I prepare a great meal and by the time I go to eat, I'm exhausted and don't eat until later or just a couple bites. My weight has actually stayed down. Yogurts and puddings are the only things I really can eat.

JustTeresa, I've had problems with eating too. I frequently make something for myself and sit down to eat only to lose my appetite. Seems like supper is the only meal I can actually eat without that problem. I guess the good thing is I lost some weight, but it doesn't seem healthy. I just attribute it to the combination of pain, migraines and exhaustion but not 100% sure where it comes from. My specialists know about it, but apparently think it's no big deal because they haven't addressed it.

Teresa,
I have problems swallowing and some days I am not interested in food. Comes and goes. Problems swallowing is generally a symptom of Sjogrens, but some symptoms of Sjogrens overlap with Fibromyalgia.xx

I have some of these issues and I also have a very heightened sense of smell so sometimes I have to get away from the smell as it makes me nausious and so I am no longer hungry

you need to go get your esophagus checked out because your esophagus can narrow which would make it hard for food to pass through appetite why's that could be some of the medications you're on check your medications and see what the side effects are but definitely have your doctor refer you to a gastrologist or somebody that would be able to check out your esophagus I have problems with my esophagus to which leads to other problems so be a good idea to get it checked out
