Members shared mixed experiences with Topamax, with several finding it helpful for managing migraines, muscle spasms, and jerking sensations, though one member noted their symptoms eventually worsened over time. Many community members described challenging side effects, including aggressiveness, agitation, nausea with sulfur-tasting burps, and in one serious case, glaucoma that nearly caused permanent vision loss after a misdiagnosis. A recurring theme was the importance of monitoring for side effects closely and communicating immediately with doctors if symptoms worsen or new problems emerge.

I was put on Topamax 11 days ago for my chronic migraines and to help me loose the 80 pds I gained since I went on Methadone to help with the fibromyalgia pain. I used to be on it before for a few years but had to be taken off due to problems with my liver. The only thing I noticed is I have been burping up a sulfur smell and a taste stays in my mouth. I also have been sick to my stomach spitting up but not throwing up, just feeling uncomfortable all of the time. I'm so sorry to tell you this but I swear it started the same night I took the first pill.

I became aggressive and agitated on it so they had to take me off.

Oh no! That sucks! Are you on a high dose? I'm on 20 mg, I think.
