They will usually denied you the first time. Appeal it and there are lawyers as well as organizations that can help.

I went and picked up the paper work. I got turned down twice and had to have a friend even fill out paper work about the changes he had seen in me in the last few years that it had gotten worse. I finally got it, but they went back to the day THEY said I qualified for, not as far back as I first applied. New rule I guess, but what I get is really hard to live on and I live alone so I pay for everything. Thank God for Medicare and help with my meds. I still pay over $30 a month for them, but without help I would be doomed for my medications.

I called first, I think it was the 800 number, and that person told me to write about the changes I have made in my life because of FB. I then went to the office and that was it, no dr apt or anything else. I must have been a very good writer. I told of everything I have done to cope and changes I made to my life and that was it. I know others have had trouble but it went ok for me. Good Luck. Be truthful.

@A MyFibroTeam Member You can go to the Social Securitys website and begin the process over the internet. It takes down alot of your info and then they will call you and set up an appt.

I have been denied three times. I filed twice myself, hired an attorney that had many medical documents ! Still got denied! I have 15 ailments and I am so sick and tired of our system. I deserve disability and it makes me sick everyone else gets it but me!!!! And I have many doctors supporting me, My friend got it on her own with major depressive disorder. I had to hire an attorney with that illness + 12 more. I don't understand the system!
