Members responded to a question about painful hands after holding objects, confirming that burning sensations, shooting pains, numbness, and frequently dropping things are common experiences with fibromyalgia, though several noted overlap with carpal tunnel syndrome. Many community members described pain ranging from burning fingertips and sharp wrist pain to swollen, stiff hands and feet, with some sharing adaptive strategies like holding coffee cups with both hands, carrying items against the chest, and switching to pull-on bras to make daily tasks more manageable. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing they weren't alone in these struggles, along with encouragement to monitor symptoms closely since fibromyalgia can cause nerve-related changes over time.

Yes! Really bad in joints and muscles, sometimes with spasms. Pain in hands, wrists, feet, knees, hips, shoulders, ribs, back. Have to hold my coffee cup with 2 hands. Carrying anything has to be against my chest with both hands... drop things, can't open jars...dressing can be difficult on bad days. I've switched to an over the head bra as can't do up closures especially in back.
