The past couple of days, and more notably today, I have been getting the feeling of being 'pricked with pins' inside my body. The feeling is painful and uncomfortable and makes me feel so sore I feel as if I've pulled a muscle (which I haven't). This morning I have woken up with it (although I was aware of it in my sleep) and it feels particularly bad. It is not food related, of that I am quite sure. However, I am very aware of food travelling through y body until it get to my stomach as I can… read more

Members overwhelmingly validated the experience of internal pin prick sensations, with many describing sharp, stabbing pains throughout their bodies including hands, feet, abdomen, back, shoulders, and neck that often disrupt sleep and daily activities. Several members shared that these sensations can feel like electric shocks, glass shards, or hot pokers, and are recognized by healthcare providers as a legitimate fibromyalgia symptom related to oversensitized nerves, often signaling an approaching flare-up. A recurring theme was the profound relief of discovering others share these painful experiences, combating feelings of isolation and the frustration of having symptoms dismissed or misunderstood by those unfamiliar with fibromyalgia.

I've had those pin pricks off and on for years. They annoy and hurt. Sometimes getting so bad they end up being more like shards of glass or hot pokers.

I get them too and are very painful like you said I'm also aware of them through the night which always means I'm extra knackered in the mornings as I've had such disturbed sleep (which is the norm for me anyway) x
