I am an early riser so feel I need to go to bed and rest reasonably early, this afternoon a neighbour asked me to pop round this evening for a coffee and I felt really uncomfortable when I had to refuse and explain, then was told I am like an old woman, perhaps I am but I feel I need to rest especially when I am in so much pain by this time is anybody else like this or is it just me ?
As soon as I put my four year old to bed between 7.30 and 8 I get straight into bed myself, I don't sleep as I suffer with really bad breathing problems (tightness, trouble catching my breath etc) but I'm too exhausted to do anything else, I'm 32, the last time I went out was my hen night 19th July 2007, I don't have any friends just my family and my in laws so I don't have any trouble with my social life (mainly because I don't have one) but I do understand why you would feel upset by this, but we have a chronic pain condition and if you need to go to bed early to feel the best you can for the following day then you should be able to without feeling guilty or having to explain yourself, you do what is best for you and if your friends don't understand if say they're not very good friends.
Sending hugs x

I'd don't like to go out after dinner anymore either. I basically have one friend left and i have explained to her a million times that I'm to tired to go out in the evening. Up until I got sick we would go out for coffee and dessert almost every week. It's been 3 years and she still asks me! Once in a while I will cave and tell her to come over, or I go over to her house for an hour or two. I'm actually happy that she never gives up on me, as everyone else has. When I was working, I would suggest meeting up for lunch as we worked near each other. If ever I make plans with family I like to meet up for brunch. That is my best time of day. You kind of need to work around your energy levels. Others can like it or lump it!
Hi - I don't go to bed early as I just wouldn't sleep but I don't like to go out in the evening now - I can't drive at night as I get dizzy and too tired to be safe also tightness in chest and shoulders due to tiredness- it just is the wrong time of the day for me - I tend to go out to lunch with friends and hubby instead - that is a much better time for me - I tend to wind down in the evening a few hours before bed so that I can sleep otherwise my mind goes into intricate detail with ideas and shapes and colours that make me wide awake and feeling sick - your friends should understand or they aren't friends - I'm quite a loner as then I don't have that worry - quite happy keeping my own company
When I was first diagnosed with Fibro..I had a lot of fiends with a lot of energy. As time went on they expected me to keep up with them..because I use to..and I look okay.I explained I can not keep up with them anymore due to Fibro.Little by little they started not calling to ask me to go knowing I may say no..I joined a Fibro group met lots of women who had Fibro..we exchange phone numbers..and became friends. It is so great because we understand why we have to say no..today..also they do not forget in 5 minutes..that we have Fibro..and all the symptoms that come a long with it..I can be real and share..without feeling guilty complaining sometimes..we can laugh at our memory loss..we can just be real. Was the best thing I could do for myself was join a Fibro support group....glad your here because we all can understand..(( Hugs ))
