Was only diagnosed a few weeks ago and I'm really not coping very well! Am I just going through the motions and will start feel better about things or is this it?
Another great book is" fibromyalgia for dummies". My Dr recommended it to me. It helped me so much to learn about fibro and how to get my family and friends involved. It also explains about disability and how to talk to your Dr.
What really helps me is I always remember that I could have something that could kill me so I am indeed fortunate. I invested in the book "Fibromyalgia & Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome" a survival manual written by Devin Starlanyl M.D. and Mary Ellen Copeland M.S. M.A. Before I had this book I was constantly in the Dr. Office trying to find answers to my symptoms. I now consult the book firstly and then the Dr. I hope this helps a little. It is not an easy disease and I think we should all get medals.
@A MyFibroTeam Member unfortunately we all deal with the diagnosis differently. Usually my emotional imbalances are bad when I have a flare up because of the pain but also I can't do certain things. When your having good days your mood will be different just make sure you don't over do it on your good days. You can do things but pace yourself. I hope that helps you.
Thank you @A MyFibroTeam Member, that's really helpful to know - we have a really good health food shop 10 minutes away so will pop in and see them😊 Xx
Thank you so much for all your words of wisdom - I think your all doing a great job of coping on a daily basis like you do😊 I hope it doesn't take long for handling like you and just accepting it for what it is and making relevant changes! I think I need to process what it all means before I overwhelm my family friends but do understand I need to do it so I can get through with love and support not alone like I'm trying to do at the moment!
Gentle Hugs to you all☺️
