Members connected over the surprisingly common issue of excessive daily gas, with many identifying potential culprits including certain vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, dairy products for those who are lactose intolerant, medications like co-codamol and magnesium supplements, and underlying conditions such as IBS or Crohn's disease. Several members shared practical strategies they use for relief, including taking Gas-X daily, drinking chamomile or mint tea, using activated charcoal capsules with caution around medication timing, and avoiding pasta or gluten-containing foods especially in the evening. A recurring theme was encouragement to consult with a doctor to rule out related conditions like IBS, which commonly occurs alongside fibromyalgia, and to work with healthcare providers to identify personal triggers and find sustainable relief.

I would check with your doctor - because things like IBS are common in association with FM. If you are eating a good balance of fruit and vegetables and have a good appetite that is good. Dairy foods can cause this if you are lactate intolerant. There are just so many things it could be like medications, too much magnesium can cause gas and diarrhea. This is all I can think of.

I try and avoid pasta, especially in the evening. I'm afraid I do eat gluten free pasta, which still causes wind, but nothing like traditional stuff.
