Hi was wondering if anyone else has this problem ? I have very painful hands in the thumb area also weakness as I'm forever dropping things , I've been referred to the hand clinic at the hospital , has anyone been to this ? And if so what do they do ? Thks for reading xx
During my research I did not find anything relation of Carpel tunnel syndrome and FM. I would not put it beyond FM. My conclusion after a intense study of FM ,was that other peoples diseases was only the symptoms for FM, like IBS, Brain fog (Dementia)ect. FM starts in the brain, low levels of serotonin due to poor sleeping pattern/lack of refreshing sleep. Amplification of pain that cannot be explained because there are no evidance of inflamation (Swelling ,redness, heat) Most investigations turn up to be non conclusive. and therefore mis diagnoses and Dr's treating patients like hypochondriac's or psycho-somatic's.
PS. if it is CTS it is a blessing, it can be cured!! A good physical examination will revile whether it is or not.
i have terrible pain in my thumb area as did my mother she thought it was because she made fishing nets and as i have never touched a net in my life i can only assume its the good old fibro yet again.
Apparently people with fibro are prone to carpel tunnel! I have really painful fingers, wrists and elbows which impacts on my shoulders too - it causes weakness in my forearms which be really problematic at times
Forgot to say that you don't have to have symptoms of carpel tunnel. Was told I had xarpel tunnel even though symptoms were way off. Had test which showed carpel tunnel but was told the fibromialgia could be causing it. Was given 50/50 that it was/isnt
I am pretty new to most of the things, everyday there is something new. It sure is nice to have a site like this were i can talk with people who know what i am going through or read what others have tried.
