It can be, unfortunately. My sister got hers on the first time. I got mine on the second try. I wouldn't try without an attorney. It seems endless due to the amount of paperwork but keep pushing for it. I filed for my disability in November 2014 and got it in March 2015. Good luck with it!

I saw a doctor for SSD that was ordered by them. I was so nervous but it actually went really well. He had a set number of questions which covers a variety of questions. There was no physical examination. It took less than an hour.

I have a claim now for short term disability through a policy i pay for through my employer. I agree it sounds like you are referring to Social Security Disability, but let us know if not. I may have that to look forward to as well..ha
