I have just started using medical marijuana in an oil form. Can't say enough how amazing this is for reducing pain. All the stuff that makes you high is genetically modified out of it so you only get the healing properties. I really struggled with the decision to go this route, but I'm glad I did. I'm looking forward to getting off the harmful chemicals in my prescription meds. I've been on some of them for 25 years and more.

I get percocet 5/325 and one doesn't take away my pain. I tried to bring up that fact to my primary care physician and he cuts me off and says take the medicine as prescribed. I been on 5 mg for going on 2 years. Does he not think my body will get use to the dosage? It's frustrating to live in pain.

I have been on OxyContin for about 15 years (same dose). With the new regulations, my Dr decided to stop prescribing it and referred me to a pain clinic. They are weaning me off of the completely and already the pain is becoming unbearable. I've tried every med on the market starting with all of the non opiates, and have gone to physical therapy. Nothing worked except the oxy. I am currently weaned down to half of my normal dose and the pain is getting unbearable. I don't know what I will do when I'm off of it. I have several pain related codons including Fibromyalgia, DJD, herniated discs, arthritis, etc. I am not a "drug seeker) and have used the same Dr for many years. I am so angry!! The government should let the Drs do what they are trained to do!

It's a frustrating thing. The meds the doctors think "help" you don't. I'm talking about antidepressants and anti seasure meds. Pain meds are the only thing that provide relief. We are in just as much pain as other chronically ill. Having Fibro is the most frustrating disease ever. It's hard enough to find a doc who will actually believe you, then one that will actually prescribe you meds that actually take the pain away. I love my pain doc. He has always been understanding of my pain. I really believe he he cares about my pain issues. I hope you can find someone like that!
