Members overwhelmingly confirmed a strong connection between fibromyalgia and autoimmune diseases, with Hashimoto's thyroiditis being the most commonly reported condition, followed by lupus, celiac disease, Sjogren's syndrome, psoriasis, and vitiligo. Several members described complex experiences managing multiple conditions simultaneously, including thyroid medication challenges, severe muscle spasms and weakness that doctors struggle to explain, and frustration when symptoms are dismissed as stress or anxiety rather than investigated further. A recurring theme was the community's shared belief that fibromyalgia and autoimmune disorders are deeply intertwined, even when the medical community has not fully understood or explained the connection.

I have autoimmune disease. But, is not from my Fibro, it is from having Shjogrens. Which is when you immune system fight again your body natural moisture. Causes chronic dryness of you mouth, nose, and eyes. I have to take Restasis, and I have medicine that helps keep my mouth from being so dry. I do not know if it is related to Fibro, but my diagnosis was before I found out I had Fibro.

Yes, I do, and people are dieing from it. It is called Sarcoidosis. I was diagnosed in 2007 and it's on my vocal chords and it feels like I have strep throat every day and now it's on my lungs. I have been to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and several trips to Detroit Sarcoidosis Clinic. Lots of rounds of Prednisone, Methotrexate, Endoscopic procedures, speech therapy, resting of the vocal chords, which means NOT talking, whispering, singing, humming for days and weeks at a time!!@$#@&??! Try that my friends and run your own business! Now I was tested last week and I don't have a Gaga Reflex so I am having some swallowing with video testing done next week. I choke and cough 24/7 and with Asthma, wearing a C-pap and Oxygen machines I am just happy to wake up every morning and get going, it seems like slow motion some days, but I chose to use what time I have to do things that take my mind off of my health issues. :-) God is with me I am certain, or else I would not still be here. Bless us all. Summer; -)

I have hypoparathyroidism (took out my thyroid and my parathyroids were damaged in the process). I also have chronic muscle spasms that affect my whole body when they hit. I am definitely having severe weakness in my legs that prevent me from walking at times. Drs. are saying this is not related to fibro, but they do not know what it is. First thought it was Myasthenia Gravis; know have ruled that out. Most drs. still come back and say it is stress from the pain of Fibro. Stress, Anxiety and Depression is the three words that drs. love to use when they don't know. If they lived with Fibro they would have stress, anxiety and depression. I am finding out there is still a lot of stuff drs. don't know about Fibro. Hugs and Prayers.

I'm not sure if I have any of these diseases other than just Fibro. But I will ask my doctor to check for me. Thank you all for your input. It gives me lots of questions to ask my doctor. Many hugs and lots of love.
