Rheumatologists first "identified" the issue as fibromyalgia, now they are the go to Specialist for it. However, they deal with folks that have MS, RA, etc. they are highly sought after for these other conditions, making their schedules hard to get into. Plus, they really aren't all that knowledgeable. Many primary care doctors just refer you automatically. Read Treating and Beating Fibromyalgia by Dr. Rodger Murphree. Great self help book!!
A new doctor should not wait 3 months to see you. He needs to get a handle on you and your health. That is too long between visits.
I see Dr Bagley. Hes young, but seems to care. Weve tried 3 scripts in 3 months, but i didnt like how they made me feel. Now im on quite a few vitamins and supplements. Im happy, so far with the results. The only time i feel like nothing is helping is right before my monthly "visitor".
Ive gone to a dr here in jax once a month since december. 3 months is too long if they are prescribing meds.
my rheumatologist initially saw me quarterly after prescribing meds to determine if the meds were making a difference and would tell me to call if I had complications. Now I see him semi annually All of my doctors are in the same network and pull up my info in the system
