Treating Heightened Senses?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Along with other symptoms, when I get really sick my eyes and ears become incredibly sensitive..
I've started having to wear sunglasses when I drive at night and avoid certain situations or places because of the noise!
Does anyone have any tips on how to handle this/somewhat fix this?
Anything would be great !

when I am tired I am very sensitive to sounds and it feels as if electricity is being shot through my body. I just avoid crowds, especially if I feel tired. I have also found that when I have that feeling walking around and just getting a little exercise does help it go away. My vision is also affected when I am feeling tired and I cannot clear my vision until I rest.

I have learned to avoid situations when i can that triggers my insensitivity to light noice smell to answer your question no i have found no ways to decrease the sensitivity it is so exhausting going to family engagements. I loose all sense of consideration when more then one person is talking if the background nouse is present or other activities are going on around me. It is also hard on my nerves all the commotion i can smell something a mile away it seems and ordinarily someone will complain when smelling something bad but it is like i cant handle it i will sometimes begin to panic if i can not remove myself from the vicinity of the offensive oder. However some times i smell thungs no one else does and that my friend is my sign of a migraine preparing to strike.if i had to rte fibro symptoms from most irritable to irritable sensitive sense would come close to the top just simply because people think you are crazy due to the over exaggerating reaction to an everyday thing.

I also understand this sensitivity. Tired?Sensitivities up. Condition has improved?Sensitivites down. These sensitivites can also help us avoid things that are bringing our health down. The perfume someone is wearing is bothering us. We need to avoid being near.

Dont expect other healthy people to understand, but try to explain to close friends and family members that bright lights are dangerous for your eyes, household chemical cleaners will have to go out of your home etc. Your body is warning you of the danger.

I can relate to this so much. My ears become unbearable and it's quite distressing. If you get any tips, I shall be very interested too. A good question Tori, thanks x
