Members enthusiastically discussed a theory connecting Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and mononucleosis to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, with many sharing that they contracted mono or glandular fever decades ago and noticed their symptoms began shortly after. Several members described feeling validated by the connection, expressing hope that identifying EBV as a potential root cause could finally provide answers after years of uncertainty, with some planning to share the article with their doctors or incorporate recommended dietary changes. A recurring theme was the mix of cautious optimism and frustration, as members balanced the desire for a definitive explanation with skepticism about whether the theory has strong scientific support.
