Glands
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2008 and since then I've noticed my glands in my neck keep swelling.

I've had Glandular fever (as a teenager) so they're a bit temperamental as it is but the last year they've been even worse!!!!

Is it coincidence or could it be Fibro?!

I get what you're saying. I've had horrendous migraines for 3 weeks now. For nearly all of that I've been bedbound. I found myself hoping I had a brain tumour or bleed because that can be fixed. Fibro can't. So I totally get how you felt. I guess it's the nature of this illness. No one sees it, no one understands it, no one believes it, so those of us with it don't want it.

All we can do is keep fighting and support each other x

I find my glands up frequently. I was told it is common with fibro. I get so much pain from them in my neck. Around the back base of my skull too.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Miracle cure! That's what I want to hear every time he sends be for blood tests or X-rays, MRIs etc.. I want to hear that he has found the REAL cause to my problems. Every time he does a test he does find something suspicious but it is later discounted. Last year he found a tumor on my liver accidentally during an ultrasound. I started thinking "aha! I have Cancer, that's why I feel like this! Maybe after surgery and chemo I can get me life back!". After they did an MRI they decided it was benign. I know it sounds absolutely horrible to sound more optimistic about Cancer than Fibro and I really don't want to offend anyone who has been affected by Cancer. It's just that some days, I wish I had something, ANYTHING that they might be able to cure.

Had a chat with my GP and he feels it is Fibro but he thinks this time I've definitely got an infection that needs shifting!

He says to drink loads and rest up. Not what I wanted to hear! Wanted him to say he'd found a miracle cure!!!!! Lol!
