Tight Muscles

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I seem to suffer more on my feet, legs hips etc, after a period of sitting down I find it a struggle to stand or put my full weight on my legs, then the muscles in my heels up to my calves and shins are so tight. I have stretch and walk to loosen them up....does anyone else have this problem?

Members connected deeply over the shared struggle of muscle tightness and stiffness, especially in the legs, hips, and back after sitting or resting, with many describing the painful challenge of standing or walking until muscles gradually loosen. Several members shared practical strategies that have brought relief, including heat therapy (heating pads, warm baths, wheat bags), Epsom salt baths, gentle stretching or floor yoga, physical therapy, deep tissue massage, muscle relaxers like Baclofen, magnesium supplements, and regular visits to chiropractors or osteopaths. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of living with invisible pain that others cannot see, the frustration of needing to constantly alternate between sitting and standing, and the solidarity found in knowing they are not alone in this daily battle.

I went through pain therapy even though I didn't want to. It helped me learn to how to move again, I hope this helps one person at least. There is a future for us, we just have to learn how to work around this debilitating issue. Lots of love!

My lower back, hip and leg muscles always feel tight. Especially after sitting for a while. Riding in the car is the worst for over 30 minutes. Muscle relaxers help some what. I stretch every day but it only helps so much. In the back and hip area it is a deep trigger point tightness where you can actually feel the knots. Shots in the trigger points help but don't last very long and I have been told I should not have them often.

I find if my body is cold there is nothing that's gonna get done until it warms up thats for sure and I like to soak in a bath before I start my day and on good or decent days I manage to make it to kitchen sink and I can lay my hands in that water all day to keep me going as I'm cooking cleaning n hanging out with the kitties

My right heel has been hurting for years and getti g worse. I recently noticed that when I massage and loosen up my extremely tight calf that the pain goes down. Tight muscles and tendons must be pulling on the nerves at the heel. Too bad the pain comes back daily. I'm thinking a out buying these calf and foot massagers that I saw online at Bed Bath and Behond. Hope they help some.
