How many pain Meds is too many pain Meds? And what pain Meds help you?
I think you really need a specialist's input rather than a GP as they do not know which medication is best for these conditions. My old gp admitted eventually he doesn't know what he is doing with me after he had swapped and changed my tablets. And refused me on numerous occasions professional help from a specialist. He said there was "no miles in it". But he did admit defeat nearly 2 years on of me suffering too. But I'd had about enough. I've moved practices now and I've had more progress in the last 2 months than I've had in the last 2 years
I was prescribed oxycodone. It helps, but addictive just like everything else they prescribe. Different things work for different ppl, because of their tolerance. See a pain specialist to help you with that.
I agree with you there penny, there alsorts of meds for pain and need a professional guidance and help in a controlled way. ⚖⚖⚖⚖⚖
Balance I think is the key.
I was prescribed Tramadol 50 mg . The only thing is u do get withdrawals . I manage my pain with Reflexology and Deep tissue massage .
My pain medication doesn't work to be honest, and I'm on quite a lot. I'm waiting to see a pain specialist but it's not until May. I've tried morphine patches (Fentynal and BuTrans) but I had a terrible allergic reaction to them. I take Amitriptyline CoCodamol Morphine Tablets Cymbalta which is an antidepressant as well to treat fibro. Hope you get sorted soon x
