A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was prescribed Baclofen 10 mg , and Amitriptyline 10 mg for fibromyalgia , is anyone taking these? ....I would really like the feedback on these medications. I'm also taking Gabapentin 300 mg twice a day. Along with a few other natural supplements. I feel awful talking so many at bedtime.

I tried amplytiline. Worst. Didn't sleep well. My legs would spasm. So I tried 3 times, taken a break in between nights. So I could say NO to that med. No reason why. Just not for me.

I am weaned off of all sleeping pills and take melatonin. It's located by the vitamins. It is a chemical our body produces naturally to allow our bodies to enter all the stages of sleep to rejuvenate our bodies. Fibro people do enter stage 4 sleep or not long enough to help. This is the stage of deepest sleep that benefits us most. Because we don't get this, our muscles are never relaxed or rejuvenated and therefore; we have so much pain. I take 5mg of melatonin every night, have no side effects from all the drugs plus the sleeping pills do not let you enter stage 4 either, they just mask the problem. By supplementing the natural that our bodies make we are helping our bodies the best we can considering the disease.
Sleep and keep moving are the 2 key elements to living with Fibro and deciding to be a survivor of it instead of a victim. I have Fibro, Fibro DOES NOT have me.

I tried Baclofen, and it didn't really help me, neither did the Gabapentin. I take a lot of natural supplements as well so I feel you on that one. SO far the natural stuff has helped more.

Amitriptyline really helped me in the pain dept --but-- my BP went too low & now I am off of Amitriptyline.

I had gabapentin before. My doctors increase the dosage to 600mg, but it didn't work for me. I just gained 15 pounds it was too bad. Now I'm on topamax, nortriptiline, tramadol, and lorazepam... Well I have a severe crónico migraine too..
