Members overwhelmingly confirmed that menstruation frequently triggers fibromyalgia flare-ups, with many describing intensified pain, exhaustion, nausea, and symptoms lasting up to 10 days each month due to hormonal changes affecting the nervous system. Several members shared practical coping strategies including heating pads, extra rest, pain medication, high-potency B vitamins, and being gentle with themselves by avoiding big commitments during that time. Opinions on the Mirena IUD were mixed, with some members finding it life-changing for stopping periods and reducing pain, while others experienced negative side effects or felt too nervous to try it, emphasizing the importance of discussing individual needs with a doctor.

Hi hon . Yes . Unsure if is well known by all FM women sufferers , but it does indeed .

The part of the nervous system is also responsible for regulating women's periods this is sensitive to any changes that your body experiences, including symptoms associated with fibromyalgia and other conditions.๐Ÿ™ƒ. Applying heat packs or hot water bottle and taking extra rest as well as pain relief during this time is best X hope my reply helps X

Gentle healing hugs (((()))) have a lovely week ahead X

I have the mirena coil, first one was great for 5 years..I had excessive bleeding, it was to stop that..had it done in hospital day patient..i was sick afterwards, but did the trick for me stopped the essesive bleeding,, I had it out after 5 years thats the limit on them,, in uk..I also suffer from endometriosis, very painful bleeding iv had op in the past too.so, I waited before having another marena coil put in just to see how the bleeding&pain wise was wthout it,, after a while the pain etc came back.i have had another put in there was some problems wth this one, pain etc..as I was awake this time, not at the hos.its settled dwn now.wth the 1st one I didnt get any bleeding at all sailed through it, it was great not to have heavy debilatating pain.i guess it may not be for every one though..speak to your nurse at the docs about it, if your periods are a big problem they will help&guide you as whats best for you.x
