I keep reading that a lot of us spend most of the time in bed...I can't because I would never get up. I have to take kids to school, pick them up, run them here and there (with no appreciation I might add). These are my husbands kids that live with us, mine are grown. I get very emotional and cranky when I hurt. No one, not even my husband, understands how much I just want to be left alone and stay in bed. The 3rd child lives with her mom only 10 miles away and I have to meet and pick her up… read more

Members shared deeply personal struggles with balancing caregiving responsibilities and fibromyalgia pain, with many expressing frustration over family members who don't understand their need for rest and the physical toll of pushing through daily tasks. Several members offered practical advice, including having honest conversations with spouses about the seriousness of the condition, keeping symptom journals for doctor visits, exploring low-dose Naltrexone or supplements like 5HTP and melatonin, pacing oneself throughout the day, and taking hot baths for pain relief. A recurring theme was the emotional burden of feeling unappreciated while caring for children and managing household responsibilities, the difficulty of finding comfortable positions for sleep, and the importance of setting boundaries and advocating for one's own health needs even when others don't fully grasp the severity of chronic pain and fatigue.

It's ok we all need to talk. I get up everyday when my hubby goes to work. I don't think I suffer as much as others do. I start day with long hot bath and finish with another hot bath. Baths really help me

Yeah, I can stay in bed for about 10 hrs or so unless my pain keeps me from being comfortable enough to stay in bed. I don't usually get enough sleep when I have to work during the week. I don't have kids but my job I do is hard enough. It's physically and mentally exhausting and I'm always feeling worn out and no energy to do anything else. I don't know how you can do it really! I hope someday the light turns on for your husband to understand.

Sorry to hear your story hunni, looks like your not getting the time to recuperate what soever and that is not right. There should be more understanding on how this disease actually affects your every day function. The fact I have 4 young children if my own I understand how hectic life is but you really need to get your husband to help out more with the children. As for the child who lives with her mother she needs to start doing more it sounds like their taking advantage of your caring nature. I know its none of my business but you need rest hun, time to rest. If they don't understand how bad things are get to s computer and print out exactly what the symptoms are how they effect your every day to day life and get them to read it. In the meantime I am hear anytime if you need someone to ramble on to God knows even talking helps..sending gentle hugs pet I hope they start to understand and help you out more God bless xx

My husband goes to work very early too and is in bed by 8-8:30 every night. I can't lay down that early so I sit in living room in my recliner until about midnight. So nights I have a lot of energy so I will clean kitchen or do some laundry. Thank you all for your encouragement. I really need it...
