I've been getting Tinnitus really bad lately. I can manage ok during the day but at night it either keeps me awake or wakes me up. It's not so much a ringing but a snapping sound, like when you put 2 electric cables together. What do you do to help?
On both android and apple phones there are sleep apps that play soft music and you can choose how long to have it play for its designed to be a background noise but to block out other noise too .. Ie if someone is snoring some block that out so it might be worth finding a comfy pair of headphones and trying a few different apps look on the reviews for what people say as thee are some trut rubbish ones too xx
Sweet dreams x

if you can find music that you like that is in the same frequency as the tinnitus, it will help cancel it out.
Also, the sound of rain, or chirping birds help.
Music with violins or flutes (classical) really helps.
You can also google "Tinnitus Therapy" and find gobs of information on the subject.
Also, you can go the old fashioned route, and buy a CD of soothing sleep sounds.
Headphones or earbuds work the best.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Hey hun! I was reading a post where @A MyFibroTeam Member told you to use the app Tinnitus Therapy Tunes. You asked what an "app" was, I did not know if you got an answer yet. But an "app" is short for application or a type of software that is used on Smartphones. I hope that makes sense. So this Tinnitus Therapy Tunes you will look on ITunes if you have an iPhone by Apple or PlayStore if you have an android phone like Samsung Galexy Series. Go to one of hte stores on the phone, search under apps and type in Tinnitus Therapy Tunes and it should pop up. Hope it helps.
@A MyFibroTeam Member, What I have discovered is called a "white noise" generator. Amazon.com has white noise generators. Many to choose from. I have an old one with battery powered clock from *Brookstone. I can get sounds like, 1. Tree Frogs 2. Ocean 3. Creek 4. Wind. When ready for bed, I turn on (when needed) this device that lets me select which sound and the volume pitch. Mine has a timer. I don't know for sure how long before it shuts off. Only twice was I not able to relax and go to sleep. **And I get a better quality of sleep when using! So there. You have two good answers.
I've discovered an app called Tinnitus Therapy Tunes. Please look for it on your App store and read the description. Studied by the NCIS which is a trusted medical sight. Description is very interesting. I'm gonna give it a try.
