I wonder why we don't meet each others in our areas. My area is Columbia SC. I heard how so many people have lost all their friends and family. Bring your spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriends. They could see others suffering from our condition. We could meet for lunch or dinner. Something more simply. I just throwing that out there.

Members expressed enthusiasm for the idea of meeting others in their local areas who share their condition, with many noting how isolating chronic illness can feel and how meaningful it would be to connect with someone who truly understands. Several members shared practical suggestions for organizing local meetups, including using the app's filter feature to find nearby members, bringing a supportive friend or partner along to ease nerves, and being flexible with timing and transportation needs. A recurring theme was the deep value of in-person friendship, with one member describing a cherished bond formed through another fibromyalgia group that has become like sisterhood, offering companionship, understanding, and support through both everyday struggles and profound grief.

I met a wonder lady thru one of my other Fibro groups and we clicked instantly! We consider each other sisters & friends! It was like we had known each other for years! We have met several times since then! We try to get together at least once a month! We went shopping 3 times in December for Christmas! She came & spent the 11 yr anniversary of our son being killed in Iraq with me so I didn't have to spend it alone! My hubby works 2nd shift & has our only car so she comes to me! We live 1/2 an hour away from each other. She is even taking me to a baby shower in March! I can't wait for my friends to meet her! We are going to lunch & shopping on Thursday! I always look forward to spending time with her! We text each other almost every day usually in the wee hours since neither one of us sleeps very well! I hope you can all find a special friend also! It is great to spend time with someone that knows how you feels & understands your struggles with this horrible disease! I am in South Bend, Indiana, Good luck!

I think that is a great idea. Each area could make there own group. Someone would have to have a person who would contact everyone and schedule the date and time and where we would meet. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. So if anyone is game from my area let me know.

I have reached out to my team in my area about getting together. But I have not heard a word wether they want to or not. I don't have a car after 3:30pm. I could meet earlier. If later someone would have to pick me up. I know the fear of meeting new people but we all have the same disease. I have left my phone number to call me. I am not going to hurt anyone. I don't have the strength. If that's what everyone is worried about. Get in touch with me if you're interested. Soft hugs for the day. It's cold and snowy out so stay warm.
