Do any of you not wake up with stiffness and pain? I have chronic pain that never goes below a 2 so I do wake up with pain but never stiffness and pain that has to be "worked out" to get moving as I've heard so many people describe.
I always have a rough time in the morning. When I go to get up the pain and stiffness is unbearable. I will sit up on the side of the bed for about twenty to thirty min before I can get moving. And my mornings aren't always at 6 or 7 am, usually I wake up every two to three hours in pain all the time. When taking pain meds it takes an hour to get relief started. Found a useful app called my pain diary. Let's me keep track of my meds, pain levels, etc. so when I see my pain dr we talk about the flare up days and bad mornings

I totally understand what you said about what you would do if you woke up without pain. This pain has been a long journey. An extremely difficult journey but now I see that good has come from it. My doctor is a Christian and had listened to me lament about not being able to get back to "where I used to be". One visit he asked if I would have as close a relationship with God if I were not dealing with disease. I had to truthfully answer, no. And I'm wise enough now to know that I don't guide my ship very well. I'll keep letting my God drive.
Unfortunately, I'm usually up and pain free for about ten minutes only. Then the Fibro train realizes it missed me and backs up for a second go.

Oh honey, there are deep furrows where God had to drag me through! About 9 years of it. My turning point was when God caused me to look at my husband. He works so hard to support us, to try and keep me in a good mood, etc. I decided in January of 2013, ok, enough; my husband deserves for me to be happy. And that's when this journey began to be joyful. Joy and gentle hugs to you!
I wake up daily with stiffness and pain. It never goes away but it does ease up. My feet and hips are the worst when I get up.
