Thinking Of Getting A Pet...good Idea Or Bad Idea? And Which Kind Is Best?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am thinking of getting a pet. I've read alot about how some pets can help with the pain and the stress of chronic pain. We have an inside cat who is loving but only ro the kids...lol. does anyone recommend any pets?

I wouldn't be without my dog. I've got an Am Staff. He is truly amazing. He senses my pain. When I have restless legs he lays his head on them and they settle down. When my back or hips are screaming he positions himself to take my weight. When I'm depressed he'll just sit on my lap.

I have a shollie. He is part border collie and part German Shepherd. He looks and acts just like a Shepard, but he only weighs in at 37 pounds.

We have only ever rescued pets and would only do so again if we get another. I've never connected with cats as well as dogs bur we had German Shepherds growing up and I certainly don't want a big dog in the house with 4 people and 2 cats. Someone on a different site suggested a hedgehog or other small animal besides a cat or dog. Not sure what exactly I want but gardening and taking care of the animals are the only hobbies I still enjoy. I guess because I can take breaks whenever I need to. Maybe I'm just missing being in the garden since winter has come...

I have a Morkie that I swear senses my pain and sits at my feet or on my lap. I love that he is always there to share a snuggle. He is small and friendly so a great pet.

Getting a pet enriches our lives so much. Please adopt, and make sure that you are 110% committed. I love my dog and cats. I feel better emotionally, physically, and mentally when I am with them!
Good lunch to you. Please post photos of your new fur baby.
