Hormonal Imbalances
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My local hospital recently held 8 sessions for people with fibro. There were different health care professionals speaking....some with great information...others not so great. One doctor mentioned that studies are now showing that fibro may be caused my a chemical imbalance in the brain. I found that very interesting. I have been seeing a hormone doctor for a couple of years and it has helped a lot. The down side is that my insurance doesn't cover the doctor visits but it does cover the labs and tests. I go to Biobalance in St. Louis, you could go to their website and get a lot of information. Dr. Maupin from there has also written a book The Secret Female Hormone that really explains a lot too. What I also like about them is that they are very knowledgeable about supplements and other treatments that can help.

Sanbry thanks for that info. I'm hoping when I see the endocrinologist in June he will be able to help me. Since I live in Canada I am fortunate that doctor visits are covered by OHIP. I will look for that book.

Yes! I'm having perimenopausal symptoms at age 33, nothing has helped my severe hormonal imbalance. I'm sick from awful periods for about 10 days monthly. I'm literally in bed most of this time. Hormonal testing may help you. Sorry u are suffering.
