Weight Loss Wanted
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone found something diet/exercise related that's helped with weight loss? I struggle with losing weight but seem to gain even when following a strict diet.

Honestly, I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and drink water and I have been eating Nepalese food. My neighbours have been making me the Nepalese food and its really healthy and I love it, it fills me up more so than american/processed food. I also have PCOS so I also have a harder time with my weight, but I do walk and I have aqua therapy 3x a week.

I find linzess useful as well. For weight loss I am dedicated to my fitbit to count my steps even if I don't exercise, so I can see how many steps I'm taking in a day. I will do things to get extra steps that are not too stressful like using the down stairs bathroom instead of the nearest one, or walking once around the car before getting in and once around when getting out, parking further from a store than necessary and walking the parking lot, taking stairs instead of an elevator, doing squats or lunges while waiting for food to cook, walking once around a store before starting my shopping, whatever I'm able to do that day without too much stress on my body; I integrate my fitbit with the My Fitness Pal app and to watch my calories and the app will subtract 100 or less from your calories depending on the amount of steps you get in. If you get in other exercise, you plug it in on the MFP app and get calorie points for the exercise. I have lost almost 30 lbs., I'm still plugging away. Last week I lost 3 lbs. One week I may not loose then the next week I'll have a loss of 3 to 5 pounds, but I don't go up in weight.

Kelly Jean I am having the same struggle. I had blood tests to check my thyroid but I have not got any results back yet. I think having a doctor who is helpful in this area might be good. I've not found one yet though. I've tried all kinds of weightless diets and exercises but no success. All we can do is to keep trying until something works. Once I hit over 50 it seemed impossible.

I don't know but I think it would help me if I lost more weight. But I have so much weakness. I can barely get up off of a chair. I would have less weight making that more difficult. I may be just hoping. I have a hard time losing but I have managed to lose a lot. But I think I am to the point where it is going to get tough.

I'm the same ... no matter what I try, I can't loose those extra pounds. I'm at the point where I'm telling myself that I'd rather are less pain and more pounds, than less pounds and more pain. I know it doesn't help loose all those pounds, but it helps me mentally... Gentle hugs.
