Members connected over the shared experience of hand tremors, with many describing how shaking worsens during pain, fatigue, anxiety, or after repetitive activities like writing or drawing. Several members offered practical strategies, including checking whether prescribed medications (especially Gabapentin or Neurontin) might be causing the tremors as a side effect, using compression gloves to reduce shaking, and planning to discuss the symptom with their doctors. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of feeling embarrassed when tremors are visible to others, balanced by encouragement to prioritize what helps over worrying about appearances or the opinions of others.

I couldn't function on neurontin, it was like constantly being drunk. I was falling asleep every time I sat still too long and even in the middle of coversations!

I get tremors in my hands like crazy if I've been drawing or writing for more than 30 minutes. I agree, it is all kinds if embarrassing and frustrating. The only thing I've found that will get it to stop for a bit is compression gloves. They're not pretty usually, but I'm of the thought that if it helps, who cares?

It happens to me a lot especially when I am in pain or have anxiety. It is very embarrassing for me too especially when people notice it. Then when people ask and I don't have a answer it is even more embarrassing. Wish I had an answer for you but at least you know you are not the only one.

My kids recently told me that my hands are shaking a lot. I was going to bring it up to my Dr when I go see her again.
