I have restless leg syndrome. But for the past month or so my whole body has been, I guess what I could call it, twitching. Every night while trying to go to sleep my whole body jerks. It's like having a seizure for a second. I do have mini seizures in my hands but I don't understand why my whole body is doing this. It will sometimes just be one body part but mostly whole body. My Dr wants to to get magnesium. Any advice or ideas what to do?

I take high doses of calcium magnesium and zinc every night before bed. It works, but is not a cure. I sometimes need to take a muscle relaxer. It had the added bonus of building my bones and teeth. I think it works well, I no longer have that annoying feeling of twitches.
I think some medications can cause it also.
Are you on lyrica or gabapentin? These will cause those type of jerks if the dosage isn't right. I call them my own religious revival because sometimes my arms literally just fly up in the air as if I'm possessed by the Holy Ghost. ☺️
Yes medications can for sure. I know the jerking is a side effect of gabapentin, which I was on for three years. I started twitching at night while lying in bed to sleep, then it became more and more prevalent. Hope this helps!
@A MyFibroTeam Member.ABSOLUTELY take magnesium for those weird body Jerks of fibro it can work miracles!!!!! Epsom salts is magnesium sulfate. Don't take too much or you'll get diarrhea, which will deplete the magnesium and the jerking will happen again. Add vit b6, mag and b6 work together!!!! I use life extention brand magnesium caps 500 MG and Vitamin b6 250 MG I have them by my bed and take them as needed!!!! They are inexpensive and I couldn't live without them!!! Hope this helps.
