Traveling And Flares

I seem to flare the day of/day after traveling. Day of traveling with mostly with car travel, day after with flying. I love to travel but seems I always pay the price for it. Does anyone else experience this?

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that traveling by car or plane triggers flares, with pain typically intensifying the day of or after travel due to prolonged sitting, cramped positions, and the stress of the journey itself. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including stopping every hour or two to stretch and walk, staying well-hydrated while avoiding sodium, using specialized seat cushions or ice packs for support, applying TENS units during travel, taking pain medication preventively, and building rest days into trip itineraries to recover upon arrival. A recurring theme was refusing to let RA steal the joy of travel, with members emphasizing the importance of pacing themselves, keeping schedules flexible, and remembering that the discomfort is temporary while the memories and experiences remain worth the effort.

It's been 14 years since I have flown and several years since I have travelled more than an hour from home. I have always found that when travelling by car it's very important to stop every two hours or so and just get out to stretch out so you don't get too cramped up. When flying I would suggest getting up just to walk to the bathroom and back just so you stretch some muscles.
