For those of you who want to help CELEBRATE National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on May 12, I have contacted the Nat'l Fibromyalgia Assoc. (I think that's what it's called). I want to see if I can get flyers or brochures and get a booth at our hospital's annual health fair. I plan to purchase some inexpensive items from some websites (keychains, buttons, ribbons, stickers, etc.) to hand out. And I will be weaing a t-shirt that announces the day and the condition. Gotta start the conversation somehow! And, if this helps even one person benefit from education and awareness it will be worth it!
Writing helps me Judee. Regardless how I feel, I work on my manuscript(s). It helps to put words on paper and sometimes those words describe how I feel through one of my characters. I also keep a journal - make notes in it every day. Sometimes writing in the journal is better than chatting with a friend! The journal is for my eyes only. The manuscript(s) eventually become published books. Even on days when my brain is on "auto-pilot" I write. And, some of that writing is good (at least that's what my editor says). Get yourself a scribbler and pencil and scribble, scribble, scribble.
I just read a piece about vitamin b12 , said it can create the fog sensation in the brain,, hum, said alot of folks are low on it and it doesn't show on a test til it becomes really really low wonder if this may be part of it??
Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member...OMG...total medicine head feeling...but without the medicine? For me the "out-of-brain" feeling as I like to call it (since it almost feels like your brain isn't connected to anything else) happens most often when I'm experiencing increased sinus pressure due to weather conditions or if I had a particularly difficult time sleeping the night before. I suffer from multiple conditions that are caused and/or affected by inadequate brain chemistry - Bipolar II, Anxiety, Narcolepsy, Fibro, Vertigo, etc.. - plus I've had multiple concussions over the past couple of years...all of which in addition to medication side-effects cause me to feel disconnected from my brain and the rest of the world sometimes. This feeling has caused me to become an EXTREMELY cautious driver (I even turn off the radio sometimes so that I can "quite" my mind), I walk with a cane EVERY time I leave the house (even if it is just to take the trash to the dumpster) and I never walk in a store without using a cart and having a very detailed list (even if the list only has 2 things on it) on my phone (since I tend to make the list and then leave it at home...but my phone is ALWAYS with me)!! Other than lifestyle changes I don't think that there is anything else we can do to stop the feeling/symptom....just another awesome thing we get to experience than "normies" don't!!
Light and Hugs,
Cyna
Hey @A MyFibroTeam Member I frequently receive the "that's called getting old" and treat as you do with a grrr!!! Yes, as we age our bodies aren't as effective as they were in our youth but I don't consider myself old at 45 and I know many people older than I am who are much more physically active and aren't constantly in pain.
