I have pain that is constant. It never goes away. There are days when the pain seems a little less, but is always there. When I am sick or stressed the pain is so much worse. Unbearable at times. My whole body hurts. Even the most simple of things, like walking becomes excruciating. I can't do any activity for very long. Does anyone have this same issue?

Members deeply resonated with the experience of constant, unrelenting pain that defines life with fibromyalgia, with many describing it as their "new normal" that varies in intensity but never truly disappears. Several members shared practical coping strategies including The Spoon Theory for managing energy, topical treatments like Biofreeze, low-dose pain medications, muscle relaxers, massage therapy, and learning to pace activities by resting on bad days and pushing forward on better ones. A recurring theme was the warrior mindset of refusing to let fibromyalgia win, even while acknowledging the profound difficulty of maintaining jobs, relationships, and daily activities when even simple tasks like wearing clothes or walking become excruciating.

Omg! Can I identify. I go through thinking it's something else wrong, the meds don't work etc.,etc.!!! I have pain all over. I have had one hip replacement, and now Dr said I need other hip replaced, along with my knee! I am scheduled to have a shot in my hip next week. Evidently ins requires this before they will ok replacement. Some days I just feel so angry that I feel this way. I use to be such a strong woman! I am retired and on disability, thank God for that blessing, I know I could not think of working. I do push myself to keep busy, whether I am painting or shopping! Which 2 hrs is about the extent of keeping busy. At least I know on this site there are people who understand! !

Marci - Unfortunately, chronic pain that is constant to one degree or another is just part of the fibro condition and if you have other painful conditions such as arthritis, degenerative disc disease, etc..it can be worse; if one condition seems to ease up another one flares. It is not fun and is not easy, that's why we are Fibro Warriors - fighting to keep the fibro from winning. I have found that "The Spoon Theory" has helped me to keep things in perspective and makes the fight a bit easier. It can be found at www.butyoudontlooksick.com/the_spoon_theory. It is worth reading. Hope it helps. Fibro is difficult and frustrating and draining and painful and tiring and, and, and...; but we can't let it win. You can do this, my fellow Warrior. Gentle hugs to you. Blessed Be.

How long have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia? Did your dr talk to you about it? Chronic widespread pain is a HUGE part of fibro, if I wake up without pain I actually start to freak out.

Yes, I say it's not if I hurt, it's how much. :(
