I have had a pretty rough go of things, maybe or maybe not due to my fibro. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks with Acites, Anadarca, Anemia, Thrombocytosis and the list goes on... I gained 57 pounds in 9 days and had to have 7 1/2 liters drawn out of my belly. Yes, LITERS. Then, I shattered my ankle. It is called a pilon fracture. It was a dislocated, open, pilot fracture. Members rallied around someone recovering from a catastrophic series of medical events, including severe fluid retention requiring hospitalization, a devastating pilon ankle fracture from a simple fall, multiple surgeries, and months of immobility that has intensified fibromyalgia pain. Several members offered heartfelt prayers, virtual hugs, and encouragement to take healing one day at a time, with reminders to lean on faith and recognize the body's remarkable ability to recover. A recurring theme was the shared struggle with intimacy and physical touch due to chronic pain, with many members describing how fibromyalgia leaves them too exhausted or in too much pain to be close to partners, though some found comfort in understanding spouses who have learned to navigate these sensitive boundaries together.

That is absolutely terrible! I was unable to put weight on my left leg for a month and got so restless and sick of using crutches--I can't imagine going for twice that long! You will make it past this though. Take it one day at a time and try to appreciate the incredible healing process that your body is going through.

Definitely has taken a toll on me. I'm always in so much pain and so tired I never have the energy to even THINK about intimacy much less participate.
