Hi, I also have tremors with my fibro, over the Xmas holidays while watching telly I had a tremor in my head, straight after it I found it really hard to breath and my tummy was going in and out, but I wasn't doing it. It lasted quite a while and was quite sore and I just wanted to curl up in a ball. I went to my Doctors today today for a check up when I explained to him what happened over the holidays he said it sounded like a panic attack, I'm not convinced as I was just sitting on the couch… read more

Members rallied around someone experiencing frightening episodes involving tremors, difficulty breathing, and stomach movements while at rest, which their doctor suggested might be panic attacks. Several members shared their own experiences with panic attacks, describing how they can strike unexpectedly even during calm moments, and offered practical coping strategies including breathing into a paper bag, keeping diazepam on hand, and practicing breathing exercises. A recurring theme was the importance of getting proper medical evaluation since symptoms could stem from multiple causes including IBS, trapped wind, or invisible migraines, with many urging the member to advocate for blood work and further investigation beyond a quick dismissal.

@A MyFibroTeam Member As a few have said it does sound to me like a panic attack as they can strike you any time any where. When i had my first one i was at work talking to someone when they asked if i was ok as i suddenly stopped talking and went "funny" in their words. I felt sick and couldn't breathe at all and had to sit down for a while so even though you were not doing anything it can strike you then. Something else this wretched bloody illness gives us, the gift that keeps on giving. I hope this helps x

Hi #Debbie
I suffer from IBS, sometimes when I have trapped wind I can see it moving in my tummy area(just the exact same as a baby moving in a pregnant lady's tummy), I also get real bad pain in my tummy, abdomin and sides. When I breathe in it hurts even more, which makes it real hard to breathe and I feel like I'm gonna die or something is gonna burst out of my tummy. This can trigger a panic attack. If you don't normally suffer panic attacks, I would go with the trapped wind theory.
But I do think that it should be investigated into a lot more. If it is IBS then it could just be somethings that you have eaten. I know a few things to avoid eating, but sometimes I just want to have the food and I either suffer for a few days afterwards or I drink peppermint tea and take peppermint oil capsules.

Apollogies for the length of this. But I hope it helps some xxx
