I just don't understand how so many things are linked to one illness, but yet the medical field still has no answers, cures, or even understanding of fibro. It makes me mad! This illness or syndrome or whatever it is, robs us everyday from living like we want to live. It takes us away from those we love and laughs at us when we try to conquer it!
I know this is more of a vent than a question, but let's vent...
I have taken myself off to university in an effort to understand more about changing how we live with it. I think it all comes down to messages to the brain. Once we figure out how to control those delivery pathways we may be able to live at ease. I will keep you posted! 😀
My new Dr is trying to change my medications so I don't get hooked on addictive medication. B.S. I'm almost 65. I have lived long enough in pain. I don't care if I get hooked on prescription medications if they take the pain away. Venting. What does other people think anyway?
Sorry about getting up on my " soapbox" but this subject really pissess me off ! Ahhh, that feels better :-)
They need to do some clinical studies and figure it out in my opinion.
The medical community doesn't want to touch us because of all the negativity going around now about people becoming addicted to pain killers. The big movement now seems to be towards monitoring doctors for prescribing these meds and coming down on them if the government decides that they have dispensed to many of them . All due to some unscrupulous doctors that turned their practices into " cash and carry offices" where addicts would pay cash be written a script and sent on their way every 5-10 minutes. Dr's are now afraid of losing their licenses for prescribing meds that we really need. So anything related to pain and curing it they know will require another pill but who's going to give up their license to prescribe it ? We're lost in to much bureaucracy!
