I have noticed since having fibromyalgia, I am very slow waking up and getting my day started. Is this true for you also? Is there any thing I could do too change that?

Members overwhelmingly agreed that fibromyalgia makes mornings incredibly difficult, with many needing two to three hours and multiple cups of coffee just to feel functional, compared to their pre-fibro days when they could quickly get themselves and their families ready. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including preparing everything the night before (lunches, outfits, paperwork), waking up 20-30 minutes early for gentle stretching, taking warm showers to loosen stiff muscles, sticking to a consistent sleep schedule, and drinking plenty of water throughout the day. A recurring theme was the importance of giving yourself extra time without rushing, accepting that fibro fog and physical stiffness require patience and self-compassion, and experimenting with different routines to find what works best for your body.

I have the same issues. I have to set my alarm really early(2 hours prior to leaving) in order to be up and ready for work the following day. I am going through menopause, so I have to take a shower in the morning due to the excessive sweating at night. I find that the warm shower in the morning helps loosen the muscles. I try to prep the night before any lunch or snacks that I might need the next day. I also drink lots of water during the day. It helps me not to be too stiff. I also after my shower rub on a tea tree oil. It doesn't have a bad smell and it goes away anyway before I head out the door.

I am the same, I wake up tired and very stiff. Sometimes it's hard to even get the kids ready for school. So I leave things ready the night before and I've been waking up about 20-30 minutes earlier and do some light stretching. If I don't stretch I feel stiff all day and can't really function. I noticed that little stretch in the morning has helped me do more during my mornings. I do what I have to do in the morning then rest and try to do my chores, taking breaks in between and drinking lots of water. It has helped me, don't know if it'll help you. Try different things to see what's best for you and helps you function better.

I take my time getting started for the day. No need to rush, for me, as I am retired. Those days when I need to get going early I do all I can the day before to limit the rush and set the alarm to give me plenty of time. If you work you could do your lunch the night before. Have baskets set up with snack items and other choices for lunch so you just need to pick and toss into a lunch bag. I shower and do my hair the night before then the next day I just need to brush the hair and touch it up with a flat iron. You could also set your closet up with clothes for the week or by color to make it easy to coordinate. Hope this helps some.

I have the same problem. I too get up early so I don't have to rush which immediately shuts down my brain. A routine helps me too. If all is prepared the night or day before and I just have to get up and out, it helps.

Yes I also have that problem but the more I stick to a regular schedule and my meds seems to help me wake up easier.
