I'm on 75mg twice a day of pregabalin. .. my Dr would like to swap me to Gabapentin!
Anyone know the differences and side effects...which do you prefer etc?

I am up to 900mg gab 3 times a day. I am always hungry and have gained 4 stone in a year. Plus i dont feel like it touches my pain or it could be that i would ache a whole lot more without it. Either way my doc sees it as trial and error to see the right meds i need

I've been on gabapentin for around a year and taking 900mg 4 times daily with tramadol, the side effects are as good as gone now, a little itchy sometimes but no guarantee this is the gabapentin... I am never pain free but feel it does help to kind of dull the pain a bit

I've been on both and neither helped :(

They are cousins. I think the side effects are less on the pregabalin, but the cost is higher without insurance (no generic available)

I only take 300 mg. of gabapentin once a day and it works well. I didn't realize how well it was working until I ran out for three days. It does wonders.
