Members openly shared their experiences with taking opiates for fibromyalgia pain, with many confirming they rely on medications like hydrocodone, tramadol, oxycodone, fentanyl patches, and morphine for relief when other treatments have not worked. Several members described practical medication combinations that help them manage pain, including gabapentin, Cymbalta, muscle relaxers, and anti-inflammatory drugs, while others mentioned alternatives like medical marijuana, turmeric, stretching, and light exercise. A recurring theme was the frustration of managing chronic pain while navigating doctor reluctance to prescribe opiates, concerns about tolerance and side effects, and the emotional toll of feeling unproductive or just existing rather than truly living.

I get my medical Marijuana tomorrow. And am pretty excited to try it. From what ppl say and what I read it works!! I wish everyone the best of luck to find their way of dealing with this pain. Gentle hugs

I used to use opiates but the caused too many side effects and hard to explain when drug eating for jobs. I switched to using Tumeric/large dose. It does the trick!

I have been on morphine for years. I have also had FM since I was young. Don't remember a day of my life not in pain. It has helped. I'm still in pain but not to the point of not wanting to live anymore.
