Members connected deeply over the shared experience of severe muscle spasms associated with fibromyalgia, particularly in the ribs, back, hamstrings, arms, and legs, with many describing the pain as intense enough to wake them at night. Several members shared helpful strategies including heat therapy with heating pads, hot baths with Epsom salt for its magnesium content, gentle yoga stretches, massage therapy, deep breathing exercises, and staying well hydrated throughout the day. Prescription muscle relaxants like Flexeril and Baclofen were mentioned as effective options, along with the natural remedy of drinking tonic water daily for its quinine, though members emphasized the importance of consulting with a doctor about chest pains to rule out other underlying conditions.

I get them in my back ... Where my ribs are. Heat really helps me. I have a heating pad I put on and I lean against it on yhge coach. When I feel looser, I strretch it out with some yoga poses I learned. How about a hot bath? Maybe with some Epsom salt? It is magnesium and it is a muscle relaxer. Maybe a combo of the two might release some if the tightness in your muscles?

I keep getting chest pains. I was told that a lot of that can be Fibro related but I sure hope it doesn't create a problem that I don't know about and ignore and have it turn into something else I ignore these symptoms.

I get them in my calves a lot especially if I try to stretch. But then my husband and my physical therapist remind me that that also is a sign that I have NOT been drinking my water........oops.......
