Yes. I got it first try without a lawyer. One of the things you need to do is be very truthful and explain exactly how you he. Also what you can and can't do with your condition. It also helped me that I was turning 50 when I got approved. @A MyFibroTeam Member you can still be working but only part time. I was still working when I got it. I ran an in home daycare and cut back to only 2 children. But with in a couple of months I was feeling so bad that I had to just quit.
I kinda evolved from short term to long term, the insurance co who was paying for my long term filed for disability, turned down the first time. I have chronic headaches, which was a bigger problem then the fibro. Hang in there
Yes. If it's your first attempt, it may be denied. Though I was approved right away & I think it was because I had been trying to find answers for so long. My lawyer couldn't hardly believe it.
Hope this helps.
I had my assessment 6 weeks ago for disability and I'm still employed but have been off sick for 10 months.
I was diagnosed in 1991with Fibromyalgia. I put in for disability was denied 3 times. But finally got it. They told me not to give up,and I didn't. But I had 2 kids to raise and was so sick I had to quit my job.
