Hello, just been prescribed Nortriptyline, I wondered if anyone else is taking it? What dosage and does it help? Taking so much medication, thinking I am going to start to rattle when I walk soon, thanks xxx

Members shared mixed experiences with nortriptyline for managing pain and fatigue, with some finding it helpful for sleep and mood while others noticed little improvement in pain relief after several months. Several members warned about dry mouth as a significant side effect, recommending Biotene products and frequent water intake to prevent dental issues, while noting that nortriptyline typically causes less dry mouth than its cousin medication amitriptyline. A recurring theme was weighing whether the side effects, including dry mouth and potential anxiety, are worth tolerating based on whether the medication provides meaningful daily relief.

Remember if you get side affects are you better off on a daily basis ? that's figuring out the risk /tolerance vs benefit ratio.

Be careful of a dry mouth. Dry mouth issues are important to address. If you let it go, your mouth will suffer decay of the teeth. We need saliva to keep our mouth moist. I suggest using Biotene: speak to a dentist, and Biotene will help.
