I know sensitivity to light, sound and temperature are common symptoms in fibromyalgia. Im typically not one to anger easily. So i find this extremely hard to live with and it bothers me that im feeling this way lately. But does anyone else get like this? I've been extremely irritable and snappy lately. Every single noise drives me up the wall! Someone chewing, sniffling, breathing.. it's bad, I'm trying so hard not to let things bother me but I know I'm sensitive.

Members deeply related to the experience of heightened irritability and sensory sensitivity in fibromyalgia, with many describing how everyday sounds like chewing, breathing, or yawning can trigger intense frustration or even tears, especially during pain flares. Several members shared strategies that have helped them manage these symptoms, including taking antidepressants like Cymbalta, checking vitamin D levels, using light therapy lamps for seasonal mood changes, and practicing mindfulness or stress reduction techniques. A recurring theme was the importance of self-compassion and recognizing that irritability often stems from a combination of chronic pain, poor sleep, overstimulation, and external stressors rather than personal character flaws.

Have you considered the time of year? November, December and January are months where it is dark outside, and the days are shorter. We get much less sunshine, during this period. In many cases individuals suffer high anxiety and depression.
The holiday season, may have a negative impact on you, too. Add the lack of sun, shorter days, more days when it's dark and cloudy and you end up with many individuals enduring the same emotional rollercoaster; where you feel irritable with a short fuse. Frustration has creeped into your confidence and you find yourself crying a lot. My dog, Persia is my get up and go medicine, but it is still very difficult to be productive and active when you feel drained, weak and exhausted.
I hope my situation / explanation has helpeds you........stay strong.....

I am experiencing the same exact symptoms and have definitely become much more irritable and find myself with no patience and snapping at people, especially when I am having a 'bad' day and in a great deal of pain.
