Does anybody have a morphine pump? I was just approved for one and I'm kinda apprehensive. How does it affect your daily life? Can you travel? What if I decide to move to another state or country? Most importantly, does it help enough to justify having it?

Members shared mixed perspectives on getting a morphine pump, with some expressing strong interest due to severe pain while others urged extreme caution about addiction and long-term dependence. Several members described their own experiences with oral morphine, noting that it helps with pain but often causes drowsiness and still requires breakthrough medication like Norco, while a few mentioned alternative approaches including fentanyl patches, cannabis, nerve blockers, and exercise. A recurring theme was the importance of thoroughly discussing the decision with a doctor, understanding how morphine affects you individually before committing to a pump, and weighing whether the pain relief justifies the potential life changes and dependency risks.

Taking medication especially morphine is highly addictive and onky numbs the pain temporarily. Exercise is the best medication. Even a simple walk or a few stretches works. If u can try not to resort to meds.

I myself do not have one, but I know others that do and they love it. It is an option I may try soon as I am on extended release morphine and dilaudid and still have a lot of pain. Good luck. God Bless You...

I've found that's the ONLY thing that does. Just a shame I can't use it while at work when my pain gets the worse.
