Has anyone else had trouble with this diagnosis? I have yet to get a handle on the pain since this started 5 years ago. I've been tossed from one doc to the next. I've had all the tests done. All negative. Thyroid. The rheumatoid markers (can't think of what they are at the moment. ) But I still feel like something else is going on. No one will believe me. Anyone else?

You are not alone. It took 4 years and just one doctor, to find out I had CFS and Fibro. For a while I gave up because doctors were telling me it was all in my head. It was lucky I saw one, for something totally unrelated, and she said it does not sound right and asked permission to perform some tease. I was so happy to have some-one believe I was not faking. A week later I had my answer. I happy just to know that all this pain and fatigue is not normal.
My primary doctor kept telling me all my pains and inability to think straight, IBS and other issues was the result of aging. After 10 years of various pain meds, MRI, EEG, EKG, XRAYS a nurse suggested Fibro. Went to naturalist, she said Fibro. Changed primary, where i had all same tests and more- sent me to rheumatologist - Fibro. Hard to accept, but the doctors i have now are great and keep working with me.
I am also convinced there is more- I keep seeing doc after doc and all I can figure after 23 years- the doctors don't know what it is or how to treat it
Adrenal fatigue goes along with it also... My thyroid tests are always within the "normal" ranges but eating and taking supplements to support both adrenal and thyroid have helped me
They are learning more but it's basically a trial and error to see what helps.
