Members confirmed that eating sweets often intensifies fibromyalgia pain, with several sharing that sugar triggers flare-ups, joint stiffness, muscle pain, brain fog, and overall worsening of symptoms. Many described giving up sugar as difficult but worthwhile, with some noticing significant improvement in pain levels after eliminating sweets from their diets, though one member noted no change after eight months. A recurring theme was the struggle of comfort eating during hard times, the guilt and physical consequences that follow, and the collective understanding that while sugar may provide temporary relief, the aftermath of increased pain and inflammation is rarely worth it.

Unfortunately sugar is one of the foods on the "don't eat with fibro" list. As is about every comfort food ever created! I gave up sweets in July and have noticed a huge difference. It's very difficult, but all I have to do is remember the pain it causes and that helps.

I love sweets. I gave them up for 8 months and didn't notice a difference. Nor did I lose any weight lol!

Thank you , that answers my question. Now I know why I am in so much pain. I went on a sweet attack, having my private pity party. This is all so new to me, glad I have help.
